The LOTTE CHEMICAL Basic Chemical Research Center became the first in the petrochemical industry to be awarded in the ‘Contributor to Research Center Safety’ institutional sector overseen by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Safety Headquarters.’

The Contributor to Research Center Safety Award is being given since 2015 to enhance social awareness on research lab safety management and to elevate national safety awareness by selecting and awarding universities, research institutes and outstanding managers that actively contributed in enhancing safety cultures and preventing safety accidents.

LOTTE 슬롯 커뮤니티 Basic 슬롯 커뮤니티 Research Center Director Hwang Min-jae received the award on behalf of the research center at the awards ceremony held at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in Daejeon in the afternoon of the 21st.

Director Hwang Min-jae said, “The LOTTE CHEMICAL Basic 슬롯 커뮤니티s Research Center is making various efforts for safety such as drawing up safety manuals fitting to the research center, improving the work environment and facilities, etc.,” and added, “We will become the safest research center by having all members exercising everything from the smallest areas.”

The LOTTE 슬롯 커뮤니티 Research Center that was established in 1986 is continuing research to secure platform technologies and develop technologies for future businesses as the company-wide R&D hub, and it is also conducting various activities related to safety.

The LOTTE CHEMICAL Basic 슬롯 커뮤니티s Research Center is building a research center safety environment system by acquiring the safety, health and environmental certification system, and from 2018 to 2021, its three research centers received certification every year as outstanding safety management research centers from the Ministry of Science and ICT.

As of now, a total of 14 research centers received certifications and in 2019, the CID2 Lab (Basic 슬롯 커뮤니티s Process Lab) was selected as the best research center receiving the Minister of Science and ICT Award. This year, the BM Evaluation Lab (Battery Materials Evaluation Lab) was selected as the best research center, thus receiving the National Research Safety Headquarters Award.

In 2020, it also received combined ISO 45001 (safety health management system)/14001 (environmental management system) certification.
